Maciej Lampe is a multicultural player. He was born in Poland but grew up in Sweden. He speaks Polish, Swedish, English, Serbian and Spanish fluently. As a player Lampe was very precocious as he played his first Euroleague games when he was just 17 years old. He was selected in the second round of the 2003 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks, but he didn't play his first games abroad until March 2004. Lampe was never much of a success in the NBA. In 2006, he crossed the Atlantic Ocean in the other direction. Since then, he plays for Khimki Moscow. He's got all the inside moves of a traditional big man.
