Team 2008-09: PANATHINAIKOS (Greece-ESAKE)
Career: A.O. Kavalas (Greece-Division C, 1998-00), Iviskos Rodos (Greece-Division D, 2000-01), Ilisiakos (Greece-Division A2, 2001-04), Panionios Forthnet (Greece-ESAKE, 2004-07)
Stratos Perperoglou was a bronze-medal winner with Greece at the U18 level and at the 2003 FIBA World Championship for Junior Men. He had a great year in 2006-2007 at Panionios that earned him a place in the preliminary Greece squad for EuroBasket 2007 and also paved the way for a move to Panathinaikos. Perperoglou is a solid defender who comes up with his fair share of steals. On offence, he will sneak into the paint to rebound or score. He has a good shot from behind the arc, which he showed by making 13 of 40 (33%) from long range during the Euroleague season with Panathinaikos this year. He won his fourth national trophy with Panathinaikos in the spring (two Greek Championships and two Cups), and is even a brand new Euroleague champion for a team that used him over 18 minutes per game last season. Not bad in only two years with the "Greens".
