What a story! At 15, Antoine Diot was considered as one of the top 2 or 3 prospects in Europe. MVP of the U16 European Championship, won by France, in 2005, European Champ' with the U18 in 2006, and twice Silver medallist (U19 World Championship in 2007) and last summer with the U20. A pure winner. A true leader. But Antoine has had problems to confirm his potential at professional level the past two years in Le Mans. So when coach Collet called him back, while he still had his Silver medal around the neck, everybody thought Antoine would be just a practice player for France. Well, he didn't wait long to change everybody's opinion. In Italy, for the qualifying tournament opener, Diot was important during the overtime of a crucial win for France. He added 16 points, shooting 100%, during the next game against Finland, before giving a pure pick-n-roll passing clinic against Belgium for the final game. He is a true leader who just needs to be trusted by his coach.
