When Alain Koffi first arrived in Le Mans, nobody really knew what to think of him. He was clearly a tremendous athlete, but he lacked strong fundamentals. He had bad timing and terrible hands, but he did show an amazing willingness to learn. Year after year, slowly but surely, Koffi turned from being just an athlete into a basketball player, Alain was finally even voted MVP of last season's French League. As his progress became more and more spectacular, his playing time improved. In 2005-06, he showed he had become an authentic threat, both offensively and defensively. After facing Le Mans in the ULEB Cup, Russian powerhouse Dynamo Moscow were so impressed by the way he handled Papadopoulos that they offered two million euros to get him. Koffi and Le Mans refused and a few months later, they both were crowned French champions. Thus summer, Alain signed with Joventut Badalona and hopes to confirm his new status with Badalona.
