Plucked from relative obscurity by the Portland Trailblazers, Freeland has exploded in the past 12 months. Had an incredible qualifying tournament and was arguably the best player. He took that red-hot form into the ACB where he has had a terrific season with Gran Canaria, finishing fourth in the voting for ‘Revelation of the Year'. While he has fierce competition for the 5 spot alongside veterans like Archibald and Betts, he will relish that. Now has a real swagger stemming from new found confidence - something previously absent when he was far too introverted. Can be particularly explosive for a center, has quick feet, is a great offensive rebounder and is getting stronger and smarter with every game. Just needs to look after the ball better and avoid picking up cheap fouls. A big talent.
