At 32 years old, Vasco will be wearing his homeland's jersey for the first time of his career, but that doesn't mean that Evtimov (who's also part French) is a rookie at the international level, far from it! He already has a solid experience due to his play with the French national team between 2001 and 2003. Everybody still remembers his incredible shot form midcourt against Croatia during EuroBasket 2001 in Turkey. After coming out of North Carolina, he went on to play in most of the major European leagues, and is one of the only Bulgarian players who can boast solid Euroleague experience. His latest season was pretty tumultuous, since it was split between Bulgaria, Italy and Ukraine, after he was cut by Spanish club Valladolid. He's a rebounding machine with a bruiser's body and a knack for taking the best position in the paint. |
