Nicknamed "Air Massey" at his former club Aris where he is still revered by the clubs fans for his athleticism and production, the forward has had a mixed season at Real Madrid. However, he has written himself into FYR of Macedonia folklore with a string of excellent performances during qualification to give the extra edge needed to get the team through to their first tournament in a decade. Massey has the perfect game to suit the up tempo style employed by Coach Arsic and he remains one of the best players around on the fast break. With veteran centers in the team, Massey provides the athleticism and energy to dovetail his less mobile team-mates and once he gets a steal, he can run the length of the floor to dunk and get the team pumped up. He does however have some flaws in his game, particularly an inconsistent outside shot and sometimes he can drift in games. But make no mistake, he is a player whose own form will probably determine the success or otherwise of this national team. |
