Team 2008-09 : Azovmash Mariupol and Budivelnyk Kyiv (Ukraine-Superleague) Career: Neptunas Klaipeda (Lithuania-LKL, 2001-03), Lietuvos rytas Vilnius (Lithuania-LKL, 2003-07), Azovmash Mariupol (Ukraine-Superleague, 2007-08), Budivelnyk Kyiv (Ukraine-Superleague, 2008-09)
Like Mantas Kalnietis, Tomas Delininkaitis is more a combo-guard than a pure playmaker. Used mainly as a reserve in Lietuvos rytas after he came from his hometown club of Neptunas Klaipeda in 2003, this fearless guard has a brilliant offensive game made of athletic drives and three-point shots. His shot selection was a problem at the beginning of his career, but moving abroad, to Azovmash Mariupol and then to Budivelnyk Kyiv, seems to have helped him mature. After averaging 15.4 points per game in Mariupol, Azovmash let him go because of the financial crisis. He bounce back in Budivelnyk, finishing the season as Ukraine's Superleague third scorer (17.3 ppg) while shooting 48% from the field. |
