Szewczyk was drafted the same year as Maciej Lampe in 2003 by the Milwaukee Bucks, but contrary to his countryman he never crossed the Atlantic Ocean. He's not a great talent but he's a well-developed player. The 26-year-old center has good mobility for his height, he's not a bad shooter, and on defense he's a great shot-blocker and an excellent rebounder. In 2008-09, he had his best season with Lokomotiv Rostov, especially in EuroChallenge. His father was also a good basketball player as he played 24 years in Pogon Szczecin in the Polish first division. He's currently Szymon's agent.
