Gatis Jahovics is a workman like player whose main contribution to the team typically comes on the defensive end of the floor and on the boards. But as a junior he showed some scoring prowess at the U18 European Championship Men where he scored 16.9 points per game in 2002 and 15.6 points per game at the U20 European Championship Men in 2004. His best basketball at senior level came at the end of the 2008 season when he was a real leader of his ASK Riga team (13,6 ppg in the Latvian play-offs). Unfortunately a serious knee injury just a few days after the EuroBasket Qualifying Round knocked him out for most of the 2009 season. Now Jahovics is looking from a new start for his career.
