Jonas Valanciunas' late dunks spearheaded a late run as Team Blue secured a 77-75 win over Team White in the Champion U18 All Star Game in Katowice.

The game brought together some of the best talent from around Europe both on the court and off. The two teams were coached by the top four graduating members of the FIBA Europe Coaching Certificate program, the first of which wrapped up this summer in Rhodes at the U20 European Championship Men.

Philipp Neumann
Philipp Neumann led the white team with 14 points.
The Whites led 64-61 when Serbia's Branislav Dekic converted a three-point play with 7:02 left to play, but Lithuanian big man Valanciunas - who finished with game-highs of 18 points and 19 rebounds -scored six of the Blues' next eight points, including two big dunks.

Slovenia's Edo Muric made an acrobatic lay-up to start a 12-0 run that saw Team Blue edge into a a 67-66 lead with about five minutes left to play and they would not trail again. Valanciunas threw down a vicious dunk for 69-66 and it sent a strong message.

Greek Linos-Spyridon Chrysikopoulos scored four quick points as Team White found themselves down 75-66 with about two minutes to go.

The game was close for the first three and a half quarter, with nine ties and nine lead changes.

Pecikevius fed Slovenian Edo Muric on the fastbreak for an easy two as the Blues got within one in the last minute of the opening period and edged in front 19-18 when Russian Pavel Antipov got a steal and a breakaway dunk just before the buzzer.

Team White went in front early in the second period as Serbian Dejan Musli fed fellow big man Philipp Neumann of Germany who made the lay-up and free-throw for 21-19.

Team Blue turned to their own big man, as Valanciunas attacked the basket relentlessly and more often than not got fouled. He hit four of six free-throws to keep his side within two, 25-23, with eight minutes left in the first half.

Andjusic put the Whites up 29-23 but at the other end Italian point guard Andrea de Nicolao got a very lucky bounce off the top of the backboard to close the gap to four. The Blues were back up by six as Toni Prostran of Croatia made a tough lay-up at the other end.

Hungarian Janos Eilingsfeld made a pair of free-throws for a 33-27 advantage but Team White responded with a 6-0 run. Serb Lazar Radosavljevic buried a wing three and De Nicolao went cross court with a pass to Montenegro's Nemanja Radovic who buried a long bomb of his own to tie the game at 33 with three minutes left in the second quarter.

Team White were up 38-33 as Emil Binev of Bulgaria showed he could hit from long range too.

In the final minute of the first half, Radosavljevic made a pair of free-throws to cut the deficit to three and the game was tied at 3sco8 as Pecikevicius connected from long range just before the half-time buzzer sounded.

Neumann scored the first four points of the third quarter to put his side up 42-38 but then was called for an unsportsmanlike foul on Antipov. The Russian made good on the free-throws and Pecikevicius scored four quick points as Team Blue edged back in front, 44-43.

The Serbs then helped Team White pull away for their biggest lead of the game. Musli hit four free-throws and threw down a monster dunk before Andjusic stole the ball from de Nicolao and banked in a jumper in the lane for a 51-45 lead.

Neumann made four free-throws as the Whites held off their opponents' rally attempts for a 57-53 lead before Lazar Radosavljevic hit from beyond the arc.

Prostran made two foul shots to end the third period as Team White held on to their three-point advantage, 59-56, heading into the final frame.

Montenegro's Nemanja Radovic tied the game with his long bomb. Prostran then got a steal and lay-up to put the Whites up 61-59 and De Nicolao's jumper tied it.

Dekic then made good on his three-point play before Valanciunas spearheaded Team Blues's decisive run.
