Serbia on Wednesday claimed their second convincing win in as many EuroBasket 2009 qualifying games by destroying Hungary 94-60.

The Blues went in front at the start of the game and stayed on top the rest of the way.

Zoran Erceg's 15 points led a balanced attack for the Serbians.

He had 15 points, and five others also finished the Group A clash in double figures.

The Hungarians surprised Italy in their first game on Saturday and were looking to do the same in Serbia but Dusan Ivkovic's men had other ideas.

The Serbs stormed out to a 27-17 lead in the first quarter with Milenko Tepic pouring in nine points and Milos Vujanic eight.

A Novica Velickovic tap-in took his points haul to eight and made it 44-32 at half-time for Ivkovic's team.

    Hungary continued to battle.

Zoltán Trepák's three at the end of the third quarter kept the visitors within striking distance at 63-52, and Istvan Nemeth's jumper at the start of the fourth reduced the deficit to 63-54.

    The Hungarians got no closer.

Uros Tripkovic hit a three-pointer and Milos Teodosic drilled a jumper to start a 13-0 Serbian run that gave the hosts a commanding 76-54 lead with just under six minutes remaining.

Serbia have now won two straight games in their qualifying campaign after opening with a victory in Italy while Hungary have dropped to 1-2.

Tripkovic finished with 13 points and Tepic 11.

Boban Marjanovic, Vujanic and Velickovic scored 10 apiece.

Marton Bader poured in a game-high 16 for Hungary.

Serbia travel to Finland for their next game on Saturday while Hungary next take on the Finns at home on September 3.
